I’m Luka Putarek, founder of Red Hoof and a beer obsessive who’s spent the last five years working in breweries across Europe. I’ve seen the polished setups, the messy backrooms, and everything in between. Red Hoof came out of all that. Built on stubbornness, curiosity, and the belief that beer doesn’t have to follow anyone else’s rules.
Croatia is home. It’s where I first saw what real craftsmanship looks like. Barcelona is where I live and work. A city that’s full of energy and never sits still. Red Hoof is what happens when you put those two together.
The name Red Hoof comes from the goats of Istria, their hooves stained by the region’s iron-rich soil, long seen as a symbol of prosperity and luck.
We make beer with intention. Good ingredients. No shortcuts. A focus on quality and variety. We care about the people we work with, the local community, and the environment we’re part of. That’s not a slogan. It’s how we run things.
Red Hoof isn’t trying to be the biggest. Just the most honest.
